The Lewisboro Garden Club was conceived in 1972 when several Elmwood Rd. neighbors decided that a local traffic triangle was an eyesore. They cleaned up the area and planted flowers from their own gardens.
Presently, the Garden Club maintains 26 traffic triangle/pollinator friendly gardens, both roadside and in our Town public spaces.
In addition to the beautification aspects of these spaces, adding the gardens to the Pollinator Pathways Program has increased public awareness of the importance of nectar and host plantings that pollinators require for survival.
