Rooting for Lewisboro Tree program.
Thank you to everyone who participated in our 3rd year of Rooting for Lewisboro. We have successfully given away 2,850 seedlings to over 200 Lewisboro residents in all of our six hamlets. If you wish to be notified about the program next year please use our Contact Us button.
Till then, happy planting.
Rooting for Lewisboro Committee
We are so fortunate to have such enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers who help us conduct these special programs. Thank you to the founder of Rooting for Lewisboro, Mary Ann Lansdale and her co-chair this year, Diane Moller, along with all of the R4L volunteers.

Dear LGC Member and Neighbors,
The Garden Club tree program, “Rooting for Lewisboro”, distributed to Lewisboro residents 1,250 seedlings in 2021, and 1,750 native trees and shrub seedlings in 2022. This year, we have selected 22 species of native trees and shrubs, for a total of 2,850, from the Saratoga Tree Nursery (part of the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation), to beautify Lewisboro, but more importantly, to increase the number of native trees and shrubs in our community.
There is no cost to you. The trees and shrubs are bare root seedlings, and will be approximately 5-14” tall. They will arrive in late April and should be planted as soon as possible. Planting and educational materials will be provided by the Tree Committee, and available on the Lewisboro Garden Club website.
Please limit your choice to a maximum of 30 seedlings using the Online Order Form on our website. Before placing your order, learn about the 22 varieties of seedlings offered this year by using the Tree and Shrub Information and Wildlife Value Button.
If you have an interest in becoming a Garden Club member, please see our Join Us page. If you have any questions please contact Mary Ann Lansdale at malansdale@gmail.com
We have a limited amount of some species, so please order early to be sure you get your requests.
Trees and shrubs are critical for our wildlife, air and water quality and the reduction of storm water runoff for our lakes, streams and reservoirs. We hope that you will join our effort and plant some native trees and shrubs this spring. The Lewisboro Garden Club values the many open spaces and preserves in our town and we are working towards an even greener future for our pollinators, our abundant wildlife and our community.
Help the Earth. Make a Memory. Plant for the Future.
We ask that you spread the word and forward this letter to your neighbors.
Thank you for Rooting for Lewisboro!

P.S. You can also order directly, for a very reasonable price, from The Saratoga Tree Nursery, and find additional species that are available. Full descriptions and photos about the seedlings and additional species can be found in the 2022 Sale Catalog.
