Dear LGC Members and Neighbors,
“Rooting for Lewisboro” has distributed 10,055 seedlings to Lewisboro residents since the program began 6 years ago. This year, we have selected 26 species of native trees and shrubs, for a total of 2,300 from the Saratoga Tree Nursery to beautify Lewisboro and neighboring towns to increase the number of native trees and shrubs in our community.
We are asking for your support in covering our costs and to keep this program growing in our community: Pay What You Wish — Suggested Donation — $1 per Seedling
Use the button links at the top of this webpage to place your online order.
Participants will be notified of the date and time of pick up in late April. The seedlings should be planted as soon as possible on pick up. If you have any questions please contact Mary Ann Lansdale at malansdale@gmail.com.
Trees and shrubs are critical for our wildlife, air and water quality and the reduction of storm water runoff to our lakes, streams and reservoirs. We hope that you will join our effort and plant some native trees and shrubs this spring.
This year it is especially important because our area faces the decline of our beech trees from Beech Leaf Disease. More information about BLD is available at www.teatown.org/bld/. The Lewisboro Garden Club values the many open spaces and preserves in our town and we are working towards an even greener future for our pollinators, our abundant wildlife and our community.
We ask that you spread the word and share this webpage link with your neighbors.
Thank you for Rooting for Lewisboro!

P.S. You can also order directly, for a very reasonable price, from The Saratoga Tree Nursery (part of the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation). Full descriptions and photos about the seedlings and additional species can be found in the Nursery Seedling Booklet.
